BMS Support Engineer – Southern Region
This role offers the opportunity to become part of a well-established, technically driven support team operating across the Southern Region. This position suits an experienced Building Management Systems (BMS) Support Engineer who thrives in delivering preventative and responsive maintenance on smart building control systems.
This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring strong diagnostic capabilities, confident client interaction, and a thorough understanding of BEMS infrastructure. The successful engineer will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of building control systems across a range of commercial properties, ensuring compliance with service level agreements while identifying performance improvements wherever possible.
Working as part of a collaborative service team, you will contribute to the seamless operation of client systems, supporting both reactive callouts and routine maintenance schedules. The role combines technical problem-solving, system analysis, and customer-focused service delivery, making it ideal for individuals who enjoy autonomy, technical diversity, and working closely with clients.
A solid understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical plant operation, and energy optimisation principles is essential. Engineers in this position are relied upon to maintain, fine-tune, and enhance the building control platforms that underpin energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and operational continuity in modern facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance across client BMS installations
- Perform detailed diagnostics and system health checks, providing recommendations for remedial action
- Deliver responsive support for service callouts and equipment faults in line with SLA commitments
- Conduct minor repair works and software adjustments on-site to optimise system performance
- Maintain accurate service documentation including reports, updates and client interactions
- Support long-term energy efficiency through consistent system monitoring and enhancement
- Represent the business professionally at client premises, communicating effectively with stakeholders
Technical Profile and Experience:
- Proven background working within the building controls or BEMS industry
- Confident in fault finding and diagnostics across a range of BMS hardware and software platforms
- Familiarity with Trend and IQ Vision systems is preferred
- Exposure to Schneider EcoStruxure, Tridium, or Siemens systems advantageous (training can be provided)
- Understanding of mechanical plant operation and HVAC principles
- Proficiency in interpreting BMS drawings, software logs and control schematics
- Comfortable working independently in the field while also contributing to a wider regional team
- Clear communicator with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- PC literate with good reporting skills
- Flexibility to be part of a rotating out-of-hours on-call schedule
- Full UK driving licence and based within reasonable travel distance of the region
