Job Description

JOB ROLE:


In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out full BMS commissioning to comply with the project requirements. This will include production of schedules, description of operation, modification of the panel design, production/modification of drawings, and, when required, the creation of software and graphics.

You will be expected to work well as part of a commissioning team but also work efficiently on your own as required. You may be responsible for supervising junior engineers, ensuring they work effectively and safely whilst on site. You will be part of the projects commissioning team; therefore, the sharing of technical knowledge with other engineers is encouraged whilst obtaining support from the team when necessary.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Check emails on a daily basis for instructions.
Responsible for making backups of software and strategy files as required for all associated systems/sites.
Liaise with sub-contract engineers and clients and report back with any design or engineering changes or issues.
Build and maintain strong client relations.
Day-to-day management of sub-contractors.
Attend site-based commissioning/progress meetings as required.
Ensure the project is delivered in line with the programme of works and intended design.
Carry out field point-to-point checks, terminations, panel and wiring modifications as required.
Commission various DDC control systems (TREND, Tridium, or others as required), completing wiring and commissioning schedules, updating control panel drawings, and descriptions of operation in the commissioning file.
Produce daily reports of works carried out and submit them to the relevant Project Manager, highlighting any delays, their cause, and timescale.
Ensure all ‘AS COMMISSIONED’ information is collated and returned to the relevant Project Manager or saved appropriately.
Update the server regularly.
Keep witnessing packs up to date and appropriately signed off.
Ensure diligent demonstration and handover to the client on projects.
Carry out site surveys as required and produce detailed reports with recommendations.
Attend training courses and meetings as required.
Ensure works are carried out within the project method statement and risk assessments, amending where necessary with any required deviation being reported to the Project Manager or Health & Safety representative.
Enforce Health & Safety interests of the company on a day-to-day basis for all employees and sub-contractors, creating and enforcing method statements and risk assessments, and updating them when necessary.
Adhere to all client and company ISO, Health & Safety procedures, and policies.
Provide technical support to team members.
Produce, submit, and amend technical submittals as required, including but not limited to:
Descriptions of operations
Equipment schedules
Operating and Maintenance manuals
Produce IO wiring diagrams to be sent to the panel designer and review designs received from the panel shop.
Produce RFIs and technical submissions to be sent to the client.
Undertake any other duties deemed necessary by the directors/managers of the business.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Experienced with at least one of the following systems:
Trend
Tridium
Schneider
Siemens
ALC
Knowledge of Niagara-based systems.
Ability to correctly interpret and alter existing control strategy in BMS systems.
Knowledgeable about HVAC systems.
Electrically competent.
Strong PC skills (Word and Excel).
KPIs OF ROLE:

Complete timesheets weekly.
Submit expenses monthly.
Complete one vehicle check per week in the checked safe app.
Complete a dynamic risk assessment for each job (minimum one per job).
Identify and report additional works for quotations generated.
