Job Description
BMS Solutions Sales – London & South East
£37,500 + Company Car or £5,670 Car Allowance + Sales Commission
£37,500 + Company Car or £5,670 Car Allowance + Sales Commission
If you want to build a career in BMS solutions sales, this gives you the opportunity to learn how major Building Management System projects are identified, estimated, priced and ultimately won.
You’ll develop your commercial and technical understanding across BMS projects valued from £10,000 to £2 million, working with consultants, contractors, specifiers and end users across London and the South East.
What you'll actually be doing and why it matters
This isn't simply about generating leads. You'll learn the complete BMS sales process, from reviewing enquiries and developing estimates through to preparing bids and building customer relationships.
You'll support the targeting of consultants, contractors and end users, help price projects, obtain control panel and electrical installation costs, prepare quotations and track opportunities through the sales pipeline.
As your knowledge develops, the longer-term objective is for you to operate effectively within BMS sales and contribute to regional growth.
Why this role could be better
The key opportunity here is the breadth of commercial experience you can develop.
You'll gain exposure to BMS solutions sales alongside estimating, project pricing, technical presentations, lead generation, forecasting and customer development.
With individual project opportunities ranging from £10k to £2m, you'll also see how different scales of BMS work are commercially put together.
Essentials
You'll need strong attention to detail, good organisation and time management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience in a similar role would be useful but isn't essential. An understanding of BMS, the regional market or technical sales would be advantageous.
You'll also need to be comfortable developing professional relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
The challenges
There's plenty to learn. You'll need to develop both the technical understanding behind BMS solutions and the commercial skills required to estimate, price, qualify and progress opportunities accurately.
Tender deadlines matter, as do accurate estimates and consistent follow-up of live enquiries and bids.
Your development
This role has a defined longer-term objective: developing you into someone who can operate effectively within BMS sales.
You'll build knowledge of the systems and services being offered while developing estimating skills and learning how relationships with consultants, contractors, specifiers and end users translate into project opportunities.
