Job Description

You keep buildings efficient, comfortable and safe. In this BMS bureau role you’ll be the calm, analytical voice behind the screens, using Trend and Tridium/Niagara to spot issues early, make smart control changes and cut kWh, costs and carbon across commercial portfolios.

You will connect into multiple BMS/BEMS head-ends to review alarm stacks, trend logs, graphics and dashboards. When something looks off, you’ll trace it through points lists, strategy pages and cause-and-effect, separating plant faults from configuration quirks and manual overrides. You’ll act quickly and safely: adjust setpoints and time schedules, rationalise nuisance alarms, remove inappropriate overrides and document everything clearly so field engineers land on site with the right plan. Your notes, data and recommendations will feed regular energy and performance reporting, supporting SECR, ESOS and ISO 50001-aligned practice.

Most days you’ll be in a central London bureau with occasional site visits across London when complex troubleshooting needs a hands-on eye. Shifts are flexible eight-hour windows between 07:00 and 19:00, and you’ll join an on-call rota to stabilise critical alarms out of hours. Travel for any site visits is covered.

Why this could suit you

  • Recognition: the changes you make are visible in live KPIs and monthly energy reports.
  • Autonomy: you’re trusted to make well-judged remote changes, backed by data and safe systems of work in an ISO 50001/27001 environment.
  • Growth: work at scale across mixed estates, deepen your analytics and optimisation skills, and sharpen client-facing communication in facilities management and smart building contexts.

What you’ll need

  • Solid BMS/BEMS experience with Trend and Tridium/Niagara.
  • Proven bureau, control room or remote monitoring background.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC controls and building services.
  • Clear written notes and client-friendly explanations.
  • UK Right to Work and the ability to obtain a DBS check.

Nice to have

  • Experience with analytics tools or energy dashboards.
  • Confidence navigating head-ends and making software or graphics modifications in Tridium and Trend.
  • Good graphics standards and head-end housekeeping.

An honest challenge
There are out-of-hours alarms on the rota, and you will juggle stakeholders across FM teams, landlords and tenants. If you enjoy keeping cool under pressure and using data to build consensus, you’ll do well here.
