Job Description

Trend BMS Service Engineer - Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire

Many service engineers work in environments where development is limited, pressure is high, and support is scarce.

This role offers the opposite: a stable, people-focused company with strong retention, genuine flexibility and a clear commitment to helping its engineers grow.

The team is now expanding to add an additional engineer. If you want variety, trust and progression, whilst staying within a defined geographical region, then this will suit you.

The Opportunity

You’ll support a well-run BMS portfolio where around 80% of your work is based across Oxford, the rest covers Swindon, the M4 corridor, and occasionally to Gloucester and Bristol.

The work is varied, spanning PPM, reactive fault-finding and small upgrades, and you will be working predominantly on Trend systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

Planned Maintenance – 60%
Routine servicing, strategy checks, backups and documentation across Trend BMS systems.

Reactive Work – 20%
Attending to faults, diagnosing issues, and restoring system performance.

Small Remedial Works or Upgrades – 20%
You’ll work independently day-to-day while being part of a genuinely friendly team that stays in close contact and regularly meets up when in the same area, and has organised social events as well.

What You Need

  • Experience in BMS service or HVAC/controls with BMS exposure
  • Trend experience preferred (training available if developing)
  • Confident fault-finding and customer interaction
  • Ability to plan and manage your own workload as a mobile engineer
  • Full UK Driving Licence

What You’ll Get

Core Package

  • Company car + fuel card
  • 1-in-6 callout rota
  • £200/week when on call
  • +£100 if your callout week includes a bank holiday
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • Automatic pension enrolment after three months (standard 5%/3% split)

Broader Benefits & Culture

Training & Development

  • A strong culture of continuous learning
  • On-the-job training and structured development plans
  • Support toward technical and professional qualifications
  • Bespoke in-person technical training (e.g. tailored Trend programmes)
  • Clear opportunities to progress within a stable, supportive team

Social, Rewards & Wellbeing

  • Regular sport and social events during profitable periods
  • Golf days, spa days, theatre trips and group outings
  • Flexible, people-first working culture with excellent retention
  • Recognition scheme rewarding staff who go above and beyond
  • Monthly Wellbeing Calendar with themes such as:
    • Healthy eating, hydration, fitness, smoking cessation and alcohol awareness
  • Support for individual and team fundraising for good causes

Engineers stay because they’re treated well, given room to grow and supported in the long term.
